Hello everyone !

I used the pre-trained Drum kit model from Magenta.
In the documentation it says "you can use a Drum Kit model that we've pre-trained on thousands of MIDI files".

Would anyone have more details on :
- What has it been trained on exactly ?
- What are those thousands of MIDI files ? Are they simple drum loops or entire drum tracks from real songs ?
- If I train it with more files, or with better quality, with more variety or with longer sequences, what can I expect to change ?

Really cool to see what everyone has been doing by the way, lot's of inspiration !
Thanks !
Agathe

I'd like to extend this inquiry to many other pre-models provided by Magenta. Specifically the melody_rnn models and the polyphonic model. I'm in the process of prepping a large collection of midi files for training with these models and this information would be incredibly helpful when comparing my results to the pre-trained "baselines" if you will. Any info from the creators of these models, or those purvey to their training process, would be much appreciated. Cheers!

Both models were trained on a large collection of MIDI files we scraped from the web. We have done very little curation of this set, so it's essentially a sampling of what MIDI files are available on the web.
