convert midi to piano roll utility

Does magenta have a routine to convert from midi files to piano rolls?

I'm getting unexpected results with pretty_midi

Strange, what kind of unexpected results? I've used the pretty_midi piano roll functionality with great success.

False alarm! I just realized that there's nothing wrong with pretty midi but with the parameters of my reference, which was Musescore.

In Musescore, if "is human peformance" is set to true, it will cut rests from the beginning of MIDI files and this gave me the impression that pretty midi was adding them!
