We are excited to announce the release of v0.12.0 for tensorflow-io. You can find the release on GitHub in the link below:

The v0.12.0 release has quite a few exciting new features: Windows support, PostgreSQL server, MP3, ArrowIOTensor, and NumPy files (see release notes below for details) and is compatible with TensorFlow v2.1.0.


The PyPI package supports Python 2.7, 3.5, 3.6, 3.7 for Linux, macOS, and Windows, and is available to be installed with:


pip install tensorflow-io

Major Features

  • Add Windows support for tensorflow-io.
  • Add PostgreSQL server dataset support.
  • Add MP3 format for audio dataset support.
  • Add ArrowIOTensor with input from a pyarrow.Table.
  • Add Numpy dataset support for numpy file and memory input.
  • Add decode_avro/encode_avro for Avro serialization support.
  • Prometheus dataset now outputs structured shapes.
