We’re excited to announce the formation of the MLIR Special Interest Group.

The overarching goal of the MLIR project is to create a generalizable ML infrastructure to represent machine learning code to be executable on any target hardware architecture, which reduces the cost to bring up new hardware, and improves overall usability. Read more in the MLIR blog post.

The purpose of SIG MLIR is to enable collaboration and form a strong engineering-driven open community, where we can collaborate, share joint roadmap plans, and discuss engineering design topics about high performance optimization, transformation and code generation techniques that can be applied to TensorFlow graphs.

Building on the existing MLIR mailing list, SIG MLIR will hold weekly open design meetings, via video conference, for collaboration and discussion about design directions. If you’d like to us to discuss a particular topic or have questions, please add it to the agenda doc.

You can join SIG MLIR by joining the MLIR Google Group: this will ensure you receive meeting invitations and relevant announcements. The first meeting is scheduled for July 18th at 10am PT.
