It's CADRE Time!

I’m really excited to engage with you during the upcoming CADRE time with Clay Cook next Thursday (12/14) from 8:30 – 3:30 here at TCDE!

 

Clay and I will be meeting on Monday to formally plan the agenda. Two things:

 

1. Clay and I would like your thoughts on what would make this day particularly meaningful and impactful. Please reply to this email and let me know what you would like to leave with on this day that would make your SEL work and leadership especially impactful!
2. Please send an email to TC...@tehamaschools.org and give a brief synopsis of your successes and challenges in implementing SEL within your classroom and at your schools during this previous time.

 

I hope you are all doing well. I missed being with you during the last CADRE and am looking forward to being with you this time.

Things have been going well at Maywood/Davinci.  We had a staff meeting that Michelle and I led on SEL practices and the staff was very engaging when talking about their own practices and what has been working for them and what has not been working.  It was a very positive and productive conversation on the whole.  

One thing that has been a struggle is students not following through after a restorative conversation.  Too many of them revert back to the unacceptable behavior.

In our upcoming cadre, I would like to see more about restorative conversations.  Do you have some videos that you can share with us that shows a teacher and a student or students having a restorative conversation?  What do you do when a student isn't receptive to the conversation.

Hi Phil,

I think this would be a good topic of conversation. I've been going back through some of our slides from older CADRE meetings, and there is a link to video modules for Core SEL Practices that has been helpful so far. Hope that helps for now!
