Greetings.  I am posting my daily Physics lessons to Google Classroom in writing.  I'm trying to include interesting links to on-line simulations and videos and web sites.  Once, I tried creating a screen cast to add my voice to the lesson, but I wasn't happy with the free software and with the results.  I ask a daily question of my students to see who is still following along.  I also have bi-weekly Zoom sessions for the students but recently, their attendance has been poor.  I have not been giving tests.  Overall, it's a very different experience for me (and for my students too).  And I'm looking forward to the summer!  Thanks.

I've noticed that kids who struggled in in-person classes are doing more with their notes than they did before. I think its because they have access to videos that they can rewatch as many times as they need. While this is positive, I find the pace is painfully slow. I'm allowed to assign a maximum of 30 minutes of work, which is understandable given the circumstances that we find ourselves in. However, if this remote learning continues into next school year, I don't know how we will be able to get through the curriculum (that is, if we don't change the requirements).

This has been a tough time. I meet once a week with my students on google meet. We have some discussions and then I have also used a variety of on line learning apps. The one piece of technology/platform that I really like is educreate. I can write and speak like on a white board. I got the pro version so I can record, save and insert slides, diagrams, etc. The other part is having them think outside the box. Some labs I have them use the things they have at home, pendulum lab, egg drop etc. It has been tough because you do not know their situation. But my brain has been stretched with how to best teach students without totally becoming a learning coach. Curriculum has been slow.
