Hi,

The following page mentions an installer jar file ('openempi-3.3.0-installer.jar').

* http://www.openempi.org/confluence/display/openempi30/Installation+using+the+Installer

Where can I find the jar file? Is this installer made available to the general public? Or is it for licensees only?

I checked the download site, downloaded the following two files (not knowing which one I needed):

1. openempi-entity-3.3.0c-openempi-entity.tar.gz
2. openempi-entity-3.3.0c-release.tar.gz

I didn't find the installer jar in either of the above files.

Thanks.

Hi,

Please check again. Using the installer is the easiest way to get started with OpenEMPI.

There are installation instructions also if you are using the first distribution method you have listed above:

openempi-entity-3.3.0c-openempi-entity.tar.gz

We will be providing documentation for the third distribution method soon.

openempi-entity-3.3.0c-release.tar.gz

Thanks for posting the installer jar. It was easy to run. I successfully logged into the admin console.

Hello,

I've had difficulty starting up OpenEMPI with both a local installation on a server that I have and with the AWS AMI.

I am using version 3.3.0c for both implementations.

For the local installation I used the installer on Windows 10.

For AWS I used the provided AMI.

With the first approach, I'm able to startup TomCat and arrive at the login page for OpenEMPI admin but when I provide login and password it only indicates "Please wait ..." and then it displays a red bold "0" character.

With the AMI, I run the startup.sh and there is an error in the setenv.sh that indicates
"./startup.sh
./catalina.sh: 2: /sysnet/openempi/openempi-3.3.0c/bin/setenv.sh: -Xmx4096m: not found" ... script continues executing until the end.

I'm evaluating this product for a healthcare organization but I'm losing many hours trying to debug this.

Can anyone provide some assistance?

Thanks,

Michael

Michael,

We can help you but you have to provide more information. We also provide support services for commercial use of the software.

What further information do you require?

I provided everything I had.

I can't recommend this product for commercial use until I have thoroughly tested it.

Thanks,

For your Windows installation using the installer, can you send me the two files: catalina.out and openempi.log. They should be below the installation directory. You can email them to chr...@sysnetint.com.

For the AMI instance, I identified the error. There was an issue with the script we use to generate the Amazon instances. If you still have your Amazon instance around, all you need to do to fix the error is put double quotes around the VMPARAMS values in setenv.sh.

VMPARAMS="-Xms1024m -Xmx4096m"

I have also created a new AMI with the issue resolved: ami-23a54b35

You can find the openempi-3.3.0-installer.jar from the Downloads page. You will need to register if you haven't already done so and once you login you will find the installer in the list.

The 3.4.0 version is coming out before the end of August.
