Hi Everyone;
I apologize for cross-posting, as you may receive this twice...
This weekend, the Hiroshima/Nagasaki Commemoration group will be hosting two events; Saturday, Feb 7 from 2 ~ 3:30pm at the Good Samaritan Episcopal Church, and Sunday, Feb 8 from 2 ~ 4pm at the Corvallis Museum Community Room.
BOTH EVENTS ARE FREE!
Sunday's event is a fundraiser for the OPSR (Oregon Physicians for Social Responsibility).
Please
join OSU Peace Studies and the Corvallis Hiroshima-Nagasaki Planning
Committee in welcoming Dr. Vincent Intondi to Oregon on Saturday Feb.
7th & Sunday, Feb. 8th.
Dr. Intondi's research focuses on the intersection of race, environmental justice, and nuclear weapons. He is the author of
African Americans Against the Bomb: Nuclear Weapons, Colonialism, and the Black Freedom Movement
(Stanford University Press) and Saving the World from Nuclear War: The June 12, 1982, Disarmament Rally and Beyond
(Johns Hopkins University Press). Dr. Intondi is the new Executive Director of Oregon Physicians for Social Responsibility (see
www.oregonpsr.org).
Please consider attending and/or sharing widely!
*We do apologize for scheduling Sunday's event during the Superbowl pre-game schedule. So many things occur simultaneously.
