Hi, Education Action Team members,

The Sustainability Coalition has reserved a table at this year’s Planet Palooza (Saturday, April 18 from 1:00 to 4:30 pm at C3). However, in order to make it happen, we need 2-4 volunteers to help come up with an activity and to staff the table for a 2-hour shift (12:30 to 2:30, or 2:30 to 4:30) .

This is a fun, kid- and family-friendly event, so it’s a great opportunity to promote sustainable living.

Please let me know by Wednesday, April 8, if you’re available to help!

Thanks,

Annette

I live within the traditional homeland of the Ampinefu Band of Kalapuya.  Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya …Treaty), Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations at either Grand Ronde or Siletz. Today, the Kalapuya live on tribal lands or tribal-ceded lands throughout the region. Many Kalapuya are active members of the sovereign nations of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde or the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians. Kalapuya culture is alive. To learn more, please check out the online Champinefu Webinar Series, plan a trip to the Chachalu Museum and Cultural Center, and/or make a gift to our Champinefu Fund.

Hi Education Action Team,

Thank you Annette for thinking of us! I will also be at Planet Palooza as one of the planning partners. I will be helping with set up, helping at the City Nature Challenge information table, setting up and coordinating the Eco Art Show, and cleaning up. Lacey and team would love help from the Education Action Team!

We have a meeting this Wednesday, at New Morning Bakery at 4pm. If you have any questions about volunteering, I am happy to try and answer them!

Other Planet Palooza help:
- Sharing the word with your networks (Planet Palooza flyer attached in English and Spanish
- I am still looking for Eco Art Submissions! Any and all help appreciated. (Flyer attached)
- There is a community clothing swap - so you can bring good quality clothes and take new to you clothes home. (Paper bag donations could be helpful!) - flyer attached.
- Also OSU Repair Fair will be present in case you have something broken in your house you would like help fixing!

Hi Everyone,

I am so sorry Annette, I didn't read your email clearly enough.

Education Action Team Tabling at Planet Palooza! We will add this to the top of today's agenda!

Hope to see some of you at the meeting shortly!

Hi! Sorry to have missed the meeting. What was the outcome of the discussion about EdAT tabling at Planet Palooza?

If I can find enough volunteers, we’ll have an Education Action Team table at Planet Palooza that includes the following:

  1. We’ll invite visitors to our table (children/adults) to play a game in which they match 5-6 plants starts with the veggie or fruit that’s the plant is going to produce.
  2. Anyone who plays the game is eligible to enter our drawing for a $25 gift card to First Alternative Co-op.
  3. We’ll also distribute copies of the 2026 Corvallis Garden Resource Guide and will have a clipboard for people to sign up to join the Education Action Team.

So far, Margit Foss (and possibly her husband, John Fowler) have volunteered to take a shift. But we’ll need at least two more people (preferably more than that!) to cover the table during the event.

I’ll be responsible for set-up and take-down, but I’m unable to stay for the event.

Anyone else willing to help? If so, please let me know by Monday.

Thanks,

Annette

Hi Team,

We are hoping to find a few volunteers to help staff the EdAT table at Planet Palooza.

Annette may be able to help set up but can not stay for the event. Annette suggested a great activity, where we challenge families to match plant starts with the final food item. I think this could be fun and a lovely fit for Planet Palooza.

I think I can also supply some seed packages for giveaways.

I will be helping with general Planet Palooza organizing and won't be able to be at the table but if you can volunteer, please let us know. It would be wonderful if you can reply back to me and Annette.

All the best,

Susan Salafsky
