Hi everyone. Jeanette Hardison contacted me looking for money to complete an important project that will benefit kids in the Corvallis School District. Because the financial year ends Dec. 31., and we likely won't be using all of our money, do you want to help her finish this project with a $2000 allocation from our account. Their grant money has run out and they still need to pay a $2000 bill for editing. We have over $4000. Let me know please.

The Waste Prevention Action Team's No Food Left Behind campaign created a digitized version of our previously-in-classroom Wasted Food Prevention presentations for 4th and 5th graders. These interactive "Eco-EduTainment" videos are professionally-produced and super fun! We're working with the district to make them available to teachers and students ASAP, along with an accompanying Teacher's Guide / Lesson Plan.
During the production process, we realized it will be more effective for Spanish-speaking young students to
hear the lessons in Spanish, not just "English with Spanish subtitles" ... Spanish translations take up to 30% longer to verbalize, so our videographer recorded and produced additional footage and worked with excellent translators, to create
both a Spanish-language and an English-language version of our videos.
This added additional costs to our project.
We are reaching out to other Action Teams who feel this project is a good fit with their priorities (the videos cover food systems, transportation, greenhouse gases, methane, personal actions, etc), to see if they are planning to use up their annual Action Team Set-Aside funding ($300-$500 per team), which is use-it-or-lose-it by December 31st, 2021... and if not,
if they are willing to roll it over to the Waste prevention Action Team for this project.
I have spoken with Annette, and this IS permitted between Action Teams.
No Food Left Behind has a strong reputation in our community. These great new videos will enable teachers to educate their kiddos whether in person or virtually, on this very important subject, and the additional funding allows us to properly compensate for production.
Thank you in advance for your consideration!
Jeanette
