Auditions for Music at V.I.S.A.

Hello 8th Graders!!

       V.I.S.A. is now having their auditions for the music department (band, orchestra, choir, percussion ensemble, and drum line)!! The audition is for the high school music director Miss. Castellanos to see what your level of playing is, so she can place you in an ensemble that you will be successful. If you need help with any of the requirements for auditions, PLEASE come and see me :-)

       For those of you who have NO knowledge of music, but would love to join a group and filled out my survey couple weeks ago, I'm sending your name and the ensemble you are interested in to Miss. Castellanos. You do not need to audition BUT it wouldn't hurt to pop by and introduce yourself and your interest.

Auditions will be in 15 minute increments

Monday, June 9th from 3:30 - 5:30pm

Wednesday, June 11th from 3:30 - 4pm   

Audition requirements are:

24 - 32 measures of a piece (preferably with no long rests)

Band: 2 Scales from Concert Bb, Eb, F, and Ab

Orchestra: 2 Scales from F, C, G, D, and A

If you have any problem meeting the requirements, don't worry. Just show your best, so Miss. Castellanos knows what you sound like.
