Two open positions at SUPSI

Dear colleagues,

I would like to inform you that I have opened two positions at the Competence Centre for Care, Health and Society (CARES), Department of Business Economics, Health and Social Care (DEASS), University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI): one PhD candidate and one Postdoc.

The candidates will work on a SNSF project on the processes of expertisation of patient knowledge in Switzerland. The project explores the recognition, the institutionalisation and the professionalisation of patient expertise in healthcare and society. I am the PI of the project and Prof. Nolwenn Bühler is the partner. She will co-supervise the Phd student who will be enrolled in the PhD programme at the Institute of Social Sciences, the University of Lausanne. The PhD candidate will work on the oncology field and specifically, on reproductive system cancers. The Postdoc candidate will work on diabetes and mental health fields. 

The ideal candidates are social scientists of health and illness and/or of science and technology with strong interest/expertise in qualitative and ethnographic research and fluency in English and at least two swiss national languages. They are expected to work at SUPSI, with periods dedicated to fieldwork across Switzerland.
