Dear all,
If you are working on digitalization in agri-food and/or rural areas, please consider submitting an abstract to a thematic session Olivier Ejderyan, Jérémie Forney and I are co-organizing at the upcoming RIODD conference in Toulouse, France, October 8–10, 2025.
The conference accepts submissions in French and in English. The submission deadline is this Friday June 13, 2025
Promises and Conflicts in the Infrastructuring of Agricultural Digitalization as a Lever for Socio-environmental Transitions
Digital tools are being hailed as game-changers for sustainable agriculture, but the reality on the ground is often messier. From data governance to farmer autonomy and shifting territorial dynamics, the digital transition in agriculture brings with it tensions, negotiations, and power struggles.
This session dives into the frictions and controversies surrounding the rise of agri-digital infrastructures. We’re looking for contributions that explore:
- Promises, imaginaries, and narratives that underpin the legitimation of digital technologies in agriculture and environmental applications
- Conflicts and controversies surrounding their implementation and use
- Impacts on territories and governance arrangements
We're especially interested in empirical work rooted in STS, digital social sciences & humanities, environmental studies, rural studies, or geography.
You can find the full description of our thematic session here (sorry it’s only in French):https://riodd2025.sciencesconf.org/resource/page/id/34
Submission guidelines in English: https://riodd2025.sciencesconf.org/resource/page/id/14
Do not hesitate to contact us if you meet some problems for submission.
Kind regards,
Nicolas
