Dear colleagues
In early September, we are organizing a workshop for scholars working with the neopragmatist approach of the economics and sociology of conventions (EC/SC). The event will take place at the University of Lucerne on 9–10 September 2025, and will focus on methodological and epistemological questions. A highlight of the workshop is the keynote by Laurent Thévenot (EHESS, Paris), titled: “Analyzing the chain of transformations needed to invest convention-based forms. The wide range of methods and arts of research”. I’m sure his work on the quality conventions/regimes of engagement is relevant for most STS scholars, and getting to know his idea of doing research will be fruitful 😊
The keynote takes place on the first workshop day (09 September), at 09.30 in Room 3.A05 at the University of Lucerne. It’s open to all and does not require registration. We also warmly invite you to join the full workshop program – here, registration is required and open until 30 June 2025. To register, please email: rainer....@unilu.ch. Full program available here: https://drive.switch.ch/index.php/s/yqqMhJMBz86GQeX If you're planning to attend the STS conference in Zurich, this is a great opportunity to travel a bit earlier and connect with the EC/SC community in Lucerne, at least on the first day of the workshop.
Best regards
Guy Schwegler and the other organizers, Leonie Bisang, Rainer Diaz-Bone, and Kenneth Horvath
