It is conducted by an international team of anthropologists, that includes me (the PI), a postdoctoral fellow, and two researchers from the University of Makerere in Uganda, across four sites located on 4 continents: (1) Stanford University and the tech-philanthropies of the Silicon Valley, (2) the scientific laboratories of a Polytechnic school in Switzerland (EPFL), as well as (3) refugee settlements in Uganda and (4) Jordan.
Under my supervision, and in collaboration with the EPFL EssentialTech Centre the appointed PhD student will conduct research on the prototyping of digital technologies for humanitarian purposes in the scientific laboratories of EPFL in Lausanne, Switzerland.
