Call for nominations to the Scientific Council

Dear friends and colleagues,
The European Commission calls for nominations to the Scientific Council: https://research-and-innovation.ec.europa.eu/news/all-research-and-innovation-news/european-commission-calls-nominations-erc-scientific-council-2025-05-12_en. The Scientific Council is the governing body of the European Research Council (ERC). Nominations are due at 12:00 CET on June 23, 2025.
I think the Scientific Council could benefit from more members investigating politics and governance with science and technology in society. Do you know someone interested in membership in the Scientific Council? Consider nominating them!
From what I understand, researchers do not need to be affiliated with institutions within the European Union to contribute to the Scientific Council. Currently, Nicola Spaldin (Professor of Materials Theory at ETH Zurich) is one of its members and Helga Nowotny (Professor Emerita of Social Studies of Science at ETH Zurich) previously served as vice president (2007–2010) and president (2010–2013) of the ERC.
