Senior Advisor on Digital Transition at the European Commission's DG Justice and Consumers, on
"Power, democracy and law in the age of artificial intelligence"
in room U159, Uni Dufour, UNIGE, as part of the Forum 2023 of the Institute for Sociological Research organized by Professors Nicolas Baya-Laffite (University of Geneva), Stefan Aykut (Universität Hamburg) and Bilel Benbouzid (Université Gustave Eiffel)
with the support of the Digital Law Center of the Faculty of Law of the University of Geneva
An experienced lawyer and manager of public policy projects at the European Commission and non-profit organizations, Paul Nemitz has been a senior director for the implementation of the GDPR, negotiator of the EU-US Privacy Shield and the EU Code of Conduct
against Hate Speech and Xenophobia with major technology companies. He is president of the Arthur Langerman Foundation and a board member of nonprofit organizations working on the intersections of democracy, technology and law, AI law and ethics.
Author and lecturer, visiting professor at the College of Europe and member of the University of Brussels (VUB).
