[STS-CH Conference 2025] Scholarship Call Now Open

Call for Applications: Scholarships for STS-CH Conference 2025 in Zurich
The STS-CH 2025 Conference in Zurich is pleased to announce a Call for Applications for 7 scholarships to support the participation of scholars from European low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). This initiative is part of our commitment to enhancing the diversity of perspectives and fostering a more inclusive and globally engaged STS community.
What the Scholarship Covers:
- Travel support (up to 500 CHF per person)
- Accommodation for 3 nights in Zurich
- Total support: up to 1,100 CHF per participant
Eligibility:
- Affiliation with an institution/based in a low- or middle-income country, as classified by the OECD DAC List here.
- Applicants must either present at the conference (e.g. accepted paper/abstract) and/or be involved in the organization of a panel.
- Must be an Early Career Researcher (PhD candidate or in the early postdoctoral phase (max. of 5 years after PhD graduation)
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated academic excellence and relevance to the conference themes (change, continuity, critique in STS)
- Geographic, gender and disciplinary diversity will be prioritized
- Preference will be given to early-career scholars, for whom participation would significantly contribute to their academic development
Review Process:
Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee composed of members of the STS-CH organizing team, ensuring transparency, fairness, and alignment with the conference’s objectives. Selected applicants will be notified in advance to allow sufficient time for travel and visa arrangements.

- Proof of participation in the conference (e.g., abstract or panel acceptance)
