Dear Colleagues,

I invite you to submit an abstract to the Symposium

Risk analysis and Safety of Technical Systems

organised by Technical Committee 12 (TC12) “Risk analysis and Safety of Large Structures and Components” of the European Structural Integrity Society within the framework of the 23rd European Conference on Fracture ‐ ECF23.
The deadline for the abstracts is 1 February 2020.

This Symposium is intended to be a forum of discussion of the recent advances in maintenance, safety, risk analysis, management and life‐cycle performance of a wide range of infrastructures, such as, engineering technical systems, bridges, buildings, dams, railways, underground constructions, wind and transmission towers, offshore platforms, pipelines, naval vessels, ocean structures, nuclear power plants, airplanes and other types of structures including aerospace and automotive structures are considered. Contributions are expected from mechanical and civil engineers, metallurgists and material scientists, among others, allowing a very multidisciplinary discussion.

All contributions in the form of extended abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the members of the ESIS TC12 Technical Committee. A selection of papers presented at this Symposium might be published in a Special Issue in associated ESIS journals. The annual meeting of the TC12 will be performed during the conference event.

IMPORTANT:
1) When submitting your abstract please mention the name of Symposium ‐ “Risk analysis and Safety of Technical Systems”.
2) Please inform us about your submission/intention to submit so that we could plan Symposium sessions (jaco...@inegi.up.pt, efed...@sfu-kras.ru, aleksand...@gmail.com)

With best regards,
Aleksandar Sedmak, José António Correia and Vladimir Moskvichev
