I am pleased to inform you that our next meeting will be organised as a Symposium within the 24th European Conference on Fracture, which will be held on 26-30 August 2024 in Zagreb, Croatia. The title of the symposium is "Advances in understanding the mechanisms of fracture
and fatigue". The Symposium is dedicated to experimental and
modelling approaches to understand and simulate the micromechanisms of
materials' degradation and failure. The main topics are: Experimental and
computational methods for microstructure analysis; Microstructure, properties,
and modelling of metallic, quasi-brittle, bio-materials, and nano-materials;
Single crystal defect behaviour during deformation; Experimental and modelling
approaches at the atomic scale; Modelling deformation and fracture of
polycrystalline materials; Micromechanisms-informed continuum models for
fatigue and fracture; Methods for bridging between length scales.
I am sure everyone has made excellent progress in their research since our meeting at ECF23 in Madeira in 2022, and will share this progress with the rest of us in Zagreb. The deadline for abstracts submission is 15th March 2024. The submission portal is already open on https://ecf24.eu, but the Symposia are still missing, so please wait with your submissions until they are introduced.
Kind regards,
Andrey
