What is the consensus - would a Facebook group for the Company be a good thing?

I am still learning how Google Groups work - threads don't work as I thought - but it isn't bad. As a Royal Guild there are things we need to do AND this is the best way to communicate for many members who do not use social media out of personal preference or professional requirement. This forum will not go away.

Thanks for your input and learning along with me!

IMO, FB would be easier in some ways, but should not be the only contact method.

I have found the Google UI to be less-than-user-friendly.

For our own communication and announcements? I'll use FB if I
absolutely have to, but I'd really rather not.

I think having FB as one of our faces will help the group recruit and stay present. I find SCA groups that have FB groups are easier to find by interested parties. And you can always link them together.

Thank you for the input!

I have created a Facebook Group. It is public and visible, but should be restricted for posting. I have also enabled an app called "Learning Units" (just "Units" in the left column navigation) which will allow us to post How-To and other education materials.

This will remain the official channel. I will look into automated cross-posting. Until then, all company business will be manually cross-posted.
