Is the following command really necessary?

./stardog-admin cluster zkstart --home ~/stardog

What does this command do exactly, other than launching the ZooKeeper instance?
What if zookeeper is running independently with its own /etc/init.d start/stop script on more than just the Stardog cluster nodes?
I mean, is the "cluster zkstart" command just a convenience command or really required?

It is just a convenience command in case you don't have an existing ZooKeeper ensemble running already. You should be fine running Stardog
along with other applications using the same ZooKeeper ensemble.

Cheers,
Fernando
