Leave Audio feedback in Google Classroom

Mote Chrome Extension has just been unlocked. Use Mote to effortlessly leave short audio Google Classroom feedback for students. This also works in Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets! See here for a video to learn more or if you do not find the extension self-explanatory.

Screenshots For Tech Issues
When reporting student tech issues please send a screenshot of the error. Screenshots make it quicker and easier to diagnose the issue.
  • On the Mac, press command+shift+F4 to save a screenshot to your desktop
  • On the iPad, quickly press the home and power button at the same time to put a screenshot into the photos app.
New Control Features in Google Meet

The latest control option added to Google Meet lets teachers specify whether or not students can share their screens and whether or not students can use the chat function in a Google Meet. The default will still be that students can share their screens, but you'll now be able to disable that option at the start of your Google Meet events. A short video tutorial has been added to the Google Meet Digital Toolbox Page.

"Glitchy" Meet?
Below are some troubleshooting steps for when students are having trouble with their Google Meet.   Feel free to copy/paste and send to students/family if needed.

Can't get into the Meet?

  • Is it time for the Meet?  Students cannot get into any meet when a teacher is not already present.

  • Remove all emails from device except for student's @spsdme.org

  1. Open Google Drive App

  2. Tap the initial or face at the top of the screen to the right of the search bar

  3. Tap "Manage accounts on this Device"

  4. Tap "remove from this device" next to any user that does not end in @spsdme.org

Other Random issues within Google Meet:

  • Disconnect from the meet and rejoin

  • Close all other apps while using

  • Try Safari, Chrome, and Meet App. Are any working better than the other?

  • Every now and then a home network needs the router turned off and then on

  • Is anyone else using the Internet?  If someone in the home is using the Internet for streaming video, gaming, or other online activity, they might be asked to wait until class is over
