This class is the equivalent of taking the FEMA IS-800 (National Response Framework Intro) class online, except it will be taught live and in-person by a CSTI outreach instructor for the ICS and EOC suite. The instructional portion of the class will end at 21:30.

You can sign up for one of multiple 2 hour shifts as net control operator or field operator. Net control will operate from the MEOC. Field operators will make reports from the festival grounds based on NC requests. Travel to and from the event will be tracked on the resource net.
3 NCO shifts: 10:00 - 12:00, 12:00 - 14:00, 14:00 - 16:00
2 FO shifts: 11:00 - 13:00, 13:00 - 15:00
Non Sunnyvale operators are welcome but need to sign a form to get city DSW coverage for the event.

If you know of someone who just got their Ham Radio license, this is their chance to learn how to use their license in Emergency Communications in Santa Clara County Learn about the simplex and repeaters we use, the frequencies to program into your radios and the various nets you can use to practice your new skills. And, there will be plenty of “Elmers” to help you learn the ropes.
