SOO Sport Summit

After attending the sport summit today for SOO, I was hoping to open a
discussion about how we can grow the youth development of basketball
specifically in Ontario. I would like all coaches to provide any
insight they have on this topic if possible. There were many great
points brought up today while I was there speaking to other coaches
from around Ontario. Some of the better suggestions I heard was
making sure we concentrate on teaching fundamental and core skills as
well as using skill competition rather than playing games at youth
levels. The future of the sport starts at the youth level and any new
things we can implement will only increase the skill level of
basketball in the future. Any and all suggestions are great and there
is no bad discussions here. Thanks in advance for your answers and
