Hello,

I have a question. Suppose I have genomic regions (with start and end locations) from human genome. And I want to know whether these regions are part of genes or repetitive elements. I am interested in biological function of these regions.

Is there a combined general database which I can use to query these regions against?
Currently I scan these regions against refGene db.

Thanks and regards,

Good Morning Meenakshi:

The UCSC genome browser would be an appropriate tool
for this exploration.

You construct a custom track of your regions of interest,
then intersect gene tracks or the repeat masking track
with your custom track.
