Hello!

I'm GBiB user and thank you for serving such a nice tool.
Recently, genome browser has become too slow.... I'm using off-line mode.
Should I install GBiB again? If you let me know possible cause, I will check out !

Thank you :)

Hello,

Thank you for using the UCSC Genome Browser and sending your inquiry.

GBiB slowdown can be caused my many different reasons. You may want to review the following help
page to ensure that you have enough RAM allocated to the GBiB virtual machine,
http://genome.ucsc.edu/goldenPath/help/gbib.html#GbibMirroring.

If those options do not work, then to further debug your issues, you should send us the time it takes
to load your tracks. You can do this on the Genome Browser by adding &measureTiming=1 to the URL on
your web browser. You should then get output like the following:

Startup (bottleneck 0 ms) : 73 millis
Get cart of 67 for user:833972473_DLVG0flHjdyYIDWVXYifXUOmDfCc session:1213233569_WFuWBOW0zR3N8wax5AUh2peqIhpZ: 0 millis
Time before getTrackList: 3 millis
Time after trackDbLoad : 70 millis
Time after visibilities: 5 millis
parentChildCartCleanup: 11 millis
Waiting for parallel (1 threads for 1 tracks) remote data fetch: 121 millis
Time at start of obtaining trash hgt png image file: 94 millis
Time completed writing trash hgt png image file: 151 millis
Done with trackForm: 5 millis
Time at end of doMiddle, next up cart write: 2 millis
Time to write and close cart: 1 millis
Overall total time: 536 millis

I hope this is helpful. If you have any further questions, please reply to gen...@soe.ucsc.edu.
All messages sent to that address are archived on a publicly accessible Google Groups forum.
If your question includes sensitive data, you may send it instead to genom...@soe.ucsc.edu.

Thank you for kind reply :)

I tried to adjust RAM capacity. It has been a little bit fast! But, human genome is still slow even if I uploaded a few tracks.

So, I tried to get debug report. It's hard to capture that moment....haha....
One is mm10 genome, the other one is hg38 genome.

Thank you always!!
