Question about programmatic access to site for Integrated Genome Browser

Previously the Integrated Genome Browser was able to access the UCSC genome browser website programmatically. For example we would make a request to: 

However, our software is no longer able to make successful requests. In the FAQ (https://genome.ucsc.edu/FAQ/FAQdownloads.html#CAPTCHA) it looks like we would now need to append an API key. Since the Integrated Genome Browser software is open source I am wondering if there is a way for us to generate an API key that we could include with the software? Or could our software be whitelisted so it can make requests?
