Good morning,

Since yesterday, I have been experiencing trouble exporting browser views as PDF. When I click View à PDF I get this error:

Warning/Error(s):

  • needLargeMem: trying to allocate 0 bytes (limit: 17179869184)

Also when I right-click a single track and click “view image”, I get this error:

Warning/Error(s):

  • Couldn't parse out img src

I have tried hiding all my custom tracks, different genome builds, different browsers, but nothing seems to work. On the PC of colleague, we are able to export PDFs, but as soon as I log in with my account, the error appears. Is there an error in my account somehow?

My username is freektg.

Hopefully, this can be resolved quickly!

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Freek Tiel Groenestege

Hi Freek Tiel,
thanks for this report.

The PDF output seems to work for me. Are you using the genome-euro or the genome.ucsc.edu website? Could you send us a "session" link of the tracks that you're trying to plot? It's under My Data > My Sessions and after the list of sessions, you can enter the name. This will create a short link that you can share with us so we can try to reproduce the problem. If it contains any data you don't want to see on the internet, as this is a public mailing list, you can send the session to genom...@soe.ucsc.edu instead of gen...@soe.ucsc.edu.

thanks,
Max

Hello,

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention.

We were able to reproduce the bug and are currently working on a fix. In the meantime, you can resolve this issue in your session by adding highlight=[] to the URL.

For example:
1. Load your session: https://genome.ucsc.edu/cgi-bin/hgTracks?hgS_doOtherUser=submit&hgS_otherUserName=freektg&hgS_otherUserSessionName=BrS_CRISPRa%2Fi_gRNAs_260224_hg19
2. Once the session has loaded, go to the URL in your browser’s address bar and add &highlight=[] to the end of the URL.
3. Press Enter to load the updated URL.

You should then be able to view the image and export it as a PDF.

I hope this is helpful. If you have any further questions, please reply to gen...@soe.ucsc.edu. All messages sent to that address are archived on a publicly-accessible Google Groups forum. If your question includes sensitive data, you may send it instead to genom...@soe.ucsc.edu.
