Request for Chain File

Dear UCSC Genome Browser Team,

I hope this message finds you well. Thank you for your continued support of the scientific community through the UCSC Genome Browser resources.

I am currently conducting a project that requires genomic coordinate conversion. However, I was unable to locate the corresponding chain file for the conversion from pig (susScr11) to sheep (ARS-UI_Ramb_v2.0, GCF_016772045.2).

Could you please let me know if this chain file is available or if there are plans to generate it?

Hi, Jelly.

We can generate that chain file for you (susScr11 <-> GCF_016772045.2). To confirm, GCF_016772045.2 corresponds to ARS-UI_Ramb_v3.0, which is the same sequence as 2.0, with the addition of chrY.

The alignment should take a few days; we'll follow up once it's complete.
