Hello,

The highlights normally used in the browser are no longer holding after zooming out.  For example, going to the below region on chromosome 1, pressing HM to highlight the region, and then pressing the 3x button (as is our normal process), results in the browser zooming out but the blue highlight is lost.  This is very problematic for our purposes.  Chrome is the browser being utilized (Version 101.0.4951.54 (Official Build) (64-bit))

This has happened one time before and it resolved itself after about 1.5 days, however I am already past that timeframe and no combination of closing and restarting the application, cookie erasing, or any other idea has helped resolve the issue.

Any idea on how to keep the highlight showing after zooming out would be SO very appreciated!!

Thank you!!

Highlighted region:

3x zoom out from highlighted region (blue highlight disappears):

Name of assembly: hg19

Name of track: all, but one example: UCSC annotations of RefSeq RNAs (NM_# and NR_#)

Exact location viewed: any, but example in screen shots: chr1:95,130,793-95,152,018

Web browser: Google Chrome (Version 101.0.4951.54 (Official Build) (64-bit))

Operating system: Windows 10

Sequence of items: Link to UCSC from Workbench, HM to highlight, 3x zoom out button

Hello, Liza.

Thank you for your question about highlights in the UCSC Genome Browser.

We're having difficulty replicating this on our own. Could you share a link to a session that demonstrates the issue? Additionally, could you open the 'Console' of your web browser's 'Developer Tools' and share any red errors with us that show up while zooming after adding a highlight? These two things should help us with debugging this issue further.

I hope this is helpful. If you have any further questions, please reply to gen...@soe.ucsc.edu. All messages sent to that address are archived on a publicly-accessible Google Groups forum. If your question includes sensitive data, you may send it instead to genom...@soe.ucsc.edu.
