Dear Sir/Madam:

I tried to convert bigBed to Bed. I download bigBedToBed in http://hgdownload.cse.ucsc.edu/admin/exe/linux.x86_64/.

I entered “chomd +x bigBedToBed ” and entered ./ bigBedToBed  in my linux, and got the following error message:

./bigBedToBed

Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Is this error associated with the linux system or I have to input parameters (what parameters should I input)?

Thank you very much for your help,

Pengyuan

Dear Pengyuan,

if you google your error message, typically you find relevant
information, which sometimes can be useful to understand the problem.

For example, here is two of the links that come up for "Segmentation
fault (core dumped)":

http://www.faqs.org/qa/qa-673.html

http://cboard.cprogramming.com/cplusplus-programming/129382-how-fix-segmentation-fault-core-dumped.html

As you can see, this issue is not necessarily specific to a program
that you are trying to run.
