Hi

Can someone show me how to see STS markers and their positions in genome browser? I was used this 4 years back very easily.

Thanks

Tariq

Dear Tariq,

Thank you for using the UCSC Genome Browser and your question about how to see STS markers and their positions in genome browser.

You can view the STS Markers, by turning on the visibility of the STS Markers track, http://genome.ucsc.edu/cgi-bin/hgTrackUi?db=hg19&g=stsMap, from the default display mode of "hide" to "full" and clicking the "Submit" button. If you then scroll down you will see the "STS Markers" track set to "full" under the "Mapping and Sequencing Tracks" section.

Many of our tracks are on "hide" by default, and can be easily displayed by scrolling down to the appropriate section and changing the visibility status. Another way to see a list of all the tracks and their default statues is to click the "Genome Browser" link from our homepage, http://genome.ucsc.edu/, then pick the assembly of interest, and finally click the "configure tracks and display" button.

Thank you again for your inquiry and using the UCSC Genome Browser. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact the mailing list again at gen...@soe.ucsc.edu.

All the best,

Brian Lee
