Connection to genome.ucsc.edu is unsecure

Dear genome browser team,

We appreciate the support and work performed to keep the genome browser tools available for all, however our institution has been having connection issues for the last few days.

We believe it might be related to the absence of a secure certification for https://genome.ucsc.edu/

The site functions properly on external devices, but we believe our institution's firewall is blocking access due to this issue.

Hi, Sean.

We have been experiencing automated bot attacks on our servers. Our administrators are working on blocking this activity while affecting as few of our users as possible.

We just removed more of the restrictions at 7 a.m. PST. Let us know if you are still having problems.

It is worth noting that our mirrors Euro (http://genome-euro.ucsc.edu/) and Asia (https://genome-asia.ucsc.edu/) are usually still accessible when our primary site has issues.

We apologize for the inconvenience as we resolve this issue.

Thanks for the quick response, really sorry to hear that your team is having to deal with bot attacks.

Looks like were still getting "ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT" on the https://genome.ucsc.edu/ link at this time. I'll redirect our team to the mirror sites for now; both appear to be working for me.
