Hi,

Just for information that when deepL ( https://www.deepl.com/en/firefox-extension ) firefox plugin is enabled then zoom in and mouse based drag on the UCSC genome browser gets stuck in loading forever.
I could reproduce this the main instance and our local instance. This did not happen with the old browser version from 2020 and happens only after the update.

Thanks!

Hello,

Thank you for using the UCSC Genome Browser and sending your inquiry.

The problem appears to be with the third-party extension and is causing a JavaScript error that prevents you from zooming in/out. As a temporary workaround, you may need to disable the DeepL extension when using the Genome Browser, or try using a different browser without the extension for genome browsing tasks.

We'll look into this compatibility issue, but we can't provide an estimated timeline for when we'll have it fixed. Browser extensions that modify page content or intercept mouse events can interfere with interactive features such as our zoom and drag functionality.

I hope this is helpful. If you have any further questions, please reply to gen...@soe.ucsc.edu.
