[cmps201] Using VPN to access UCSC internal library resources

Hello,

The UCSC library websites check your IP address to determine whether to provide you free access to their licensed resources or not. If you are using on-campus network system you should get access to these resources transparently. But if you are off -campus, you need to use the SOE VPN (Virtual Private Network) system to get a virtual IP therefore the internal library websites can recognize you.

No matter where you physically are, when you connect to VPN, you are effectively using the UCSC network for all your network activities on your machine. Please follow UCSC network regulations.

Please be noted that this system is set up by SOE and provides access to SOE faculties/graduate students only. People not in SOE won't be able to use them.
