Dear UCSC curators,

UCSC genome browser is very nice, but recently I noticed that the genome assembly of D. grimshawi in UCSC is not updated to the latest version, such as

Flybase:

The above one is much more widely used nowadays for D. grimshawi.
Would you please do us a favor to update it so that more people can use it? Thanks very much!

Best,
Haiwang

Hi Haiwang,

Thank you for your request to update the browser for D. grimshawi. We do not plan on updating this assembly any time soon, as our grant mandates that we focus first on primates and mammals, but we have taken into account your request.

That said, you may find this mirror site useful, as it appears to be using the updated D. grimshawi assembly:

Thank you again for your inquiry and using the UCSC Genome Browser. If you have any further
questions, please reply to gen...@soe.ucsc.edu. All messages sent to that address are archived
on a publicly-accessible forum. If your question includes sensitive data, you may send it instead
to genom...@soe.ucsc.edu.
