Dear Shaddha,
Thank you for using the UCSC Genome Browser and your question about decreasing coordinates.
Thank you for including your screenshot, it has helped indicate what is occurring. What is displaying is the "reverse" mode of the Browser, you can switch this back by clicking the button below the browser window toward the left where you will find buttons named "multi-region" "reverse" "resize" and "refresh." By clicking the "reverse" button your display will return to the view you are accustomed to seeing.
To explain what may have happened, in the past year the Browser has implemented many keyboard shortcuts. If you type "?" while browsing you will see a list of them pop-up. You may have accidentally typed "r v" which will "reverse" the display. You can use that shortcut as well instead of using the button to quickly flip the display back and forth.
You may also be interested to try the "resize" button or "r s" shortcut when you change the size of your Browser window, it will resize the display to accommodate a larger monitor. Another recent feature in the past year is the "multi-region" tool which will slice the display of the genome into genes only, haplotypes, or exons only (shortcut "e v" for exon view, and "d v" to return to default view). Other shortcut keys may enjoy are the 1,2,3,4,5,6 keys to zoom in and out to regions of 50, 500, 5000, ect. bases.
