Hello:

In the past there has been a backwards LiftOver (e.g. dm3 to dm2).
But the there does not appear to be a tool to go from dm6 to dm3.

Is this in fact the case that no such tools is available?

If so can one expect to see one soon?

Cheers,
Chuck Langley

Hi Chuck,

Thank you for your question about LiftOver from dm6 to dm3. This is
already available on our web-based LiftOver tool,
http://genome.ucsc.edu/cgi-bin/hgLiftOver?db=dm6. To lift your
coordinates to dm3, you just need to select "D. melanogaster" from the
"New Genome" drop-down menu. You can also find the LiftOver file for
this on our download server here:
http://hgdownload.soe.ucsc.edu/goldenPath/dm6/liftOver/dm6ToDm3.over.chain.gz.

I hope this is helpful. If you have any further questions, please reply
to genome...@soe.ucsc.edu. All messages sent to that address are
archived on a publicly-accessible Google Groups forum. If your question
includes sensitive data, you may send it instead to genom...@soe.ucsc.edu.
