To restore a backup or upgrade to SMART 3.2.1:
1. Download and open SMART 3.2.1 (it seems you have already done this)
2. On the login screen, select the 'Advanced' option
3. Select the 'Restore a Backup' option
4. Follow the wizard, and when asked to select a backup file to restore, pick the file you previously created.
Note: SMART is only able to restore backups if all plugins in the file are also installed in the current system. This is to ensure data is not lost. So for example, if your backup file has the Ecological Records Plugin installed (e.g. for ecological survey data), but the SMART application on your computer does not have that plugin installed, you will not be able to restore the backup.
You must first install the Plugins in your SMART instance, then you can restore the backup. You will know if you receive an error message indicating this. If so, follow the instructions for Installing Plugins and Language Packs here: https://www.assembla.com/wiki/show/smart-cs/SMART_3_2_0_Release_Notes - plugins_and_language_packs
The opposite is not true. If the backup does not have the Ecological Records Plugin installed, but the current system does, the backup can be restored.

Hi All
I have a new version of SMART (3.2.1). recently downloaded. Instead of setting up a new conservation area I just want to import a conservation area as a .zip file.
I keep getting the following error
The file that I am trying to upload was created by logging into the conservation area we want to use, selecting File/Backup system which allows it to be saved to a zipped folder of the system. We are then trying to use this zipped file as the imported conservation area.
Any ideas of what we are doing wrong?
Cheers
