Field Trip! Ride starts out west in Hillsboro this Saturday.  There is still snow in the foothills, so we're going to keep to lower elevations again this weekend. This is a great route on very quite roads.  A few good gravel climbs and descents (Parsons, Strassel), the lovely and paved Timber Rd. (including the portion currently closed to cars), the seldom ridden Pebble Creek Rd., and a nice cruise down the Banks/Vernonia Trail to wrap it up.

Day/Time: Saturday, 3/9, 9am sharp roll out

Start/End Location: Grand Central Bakery - Hillsboro cafe; 118 SE 2nd Ave, Hillsboro, OR 97123

Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/45771971.  We will all be stopping at the store in Vernonia at the ~57 mile mark.

Pace: Endurance ride w/ a little tempo mixed in.  Conversational, training camp vibes.

Equipment: FENDERS highly encouraged for the sake of your fellow riders as the roads will be wet and we'll be riding in a group!  Gravel on this route is smooth, road or gravel bikes with 38mm tires should be fine.

Logistics: For those commuting to the ride start, please consider taking the Max train to Hillsboro's Hatfield Government Center MAX station.  Ride start is just two blocks east of the station.

I'll be riding from SW Portland, leaving Baker & Spice in Hillsdale at 7:45am sharp if anyone wants to cruise the 15 miles out to the start with me.  Here is my route to the ride start: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/45779205

All are welcome!  No RSVP required, just show up, ride, and make new friends!  Ride is unsanctioned, on open roads, with no official leader.
