Hi everyone! Here are the meeting notes for December 30, 2025. Prepared by Edwin
* Introductions! 10 or 11 people in attendance? Edwin forgot to count 😃
* New things!
* Everette is officially one of our five board members! Bi-election was not required
* We've reorganized the space somewhat! Boardgames and project shelves have moved to be easier to access from the boardroom table
* We may change our insurance broker to save us future event insurance
* Projects
* New website hackathon? No update, Mark C is owning
* Does anyone want a free-standing coffee machine? It's looking for a new home, talk to Michael A
* Cafe System 7 Model 640. It's a vending machine, talk to Awesome Michael
* What remains on new closet build? Reinforcing the door, security, other things!
* Thor is reinforcing the closet door!
* Edwin is going to re-write Skulltris! If anyone has an AT or an ATX 1.0 with -5v it would save Edwin some work!
* Mark J is doing server stuff if you want to help out!
* Events
* Holiday Movie Nights!
* Happened on the 27th
* Went from 8:00am until... 7:10am! Made it to over 23 hours!
* Software Synth continues on Wednesdays!
* Starts at 8:00pm
* Semi-public! Come on by with a laptop
* Hax 7.0 planning is underway
* Week of Hackerspace fun compressed into a single weekend!
* We're looking for talks! Talk to Mark J for that
* If you want to be a promoter, organizer, etc. we could use your help
* Genesis Block day
* This Saturday, January 3!
* Noon!
* Trading market
* First Fridays
* Happened on the 6th! Great financial success despite no alcohol!
* We made a total of ~$1,700 after deductions!
* There are some new venues competing for after hours events. There's more opportunities for that, assuming there's appetite for events that are okay without profit sharing.
* LGCA came and did an audit, and we were found in violation of rules. Do not bring alcohol
* We'll be writing up a safer spaces policy
* Didn't quite hit capacity of 150
* Next one is this Friday! Starts 10:00pm. Alcohol is a *maybe* because the permit is stuck
* Potentially the attendance is going to be lower, but we're really guessing
* We're not renting downstairs after all
* We did not receive the community endorsement, so no alcohol
* Event insurance changes, working to $400ish instead of $560 in the future
* Movie nights!
* December - Hitting the slopes
* Ski School
* Out Cold
* January 16th - Film Noir-ish
* The Big Lebowski
* Brick
* Financials
* Number go sideways (not down!). Difference of -$50! (3x better than last month)
* We're missing some of the event proceeds, so number should have gone up more than $300
* Total value: $7,510.99
* Bank value is currently at $6,471.33
* Membership: 49 full members, 4 students
