Big business can sometimes rob a person of their moral compass, or leave them on the losing side uphill battle.  Aaron Eckhart ( The Wickerman, Paycheck ) is one of such morally flexible executives.  His research institute is working hard to contradict the connection between tobacco smoke and cancer, while he lobbies the lawmakers for more leeway.  What more can you ask of a person than for them to use the gifts they have been blessed with?  The gift of gab doesn't translate directly into critical thinking, and Nick soon finds that he has made some terrible life choices.

Sometimes all it takes to make you feel like a new person is a compliment from a total stranger, or a chance meeting in a park.  Other times you need to take complicated, specific, and sometimes drastic measures to find the new you.  Frances McDormand (  Darkman, Aeon Flux ) is one of these folks who feels they need to take the most drastic of measures, but is seriously lacking funds.  When a mysterious compact disc appears with cryptic data about, presumably, secret government operations and other super secret shit, she recruits her coworkers to find her the leverage she needs to achieve her dreams.
