Giant monolithic corporations are going to be the death of the independent music stores.  When Rory Cochrane ( Dazed and Confused, A Scanner Darkly ) finds out that his boss is selling the store to a soulless chain store, he rallies his fellow employees, hapless shoplifters, and the vocal stylings of Renée Zellweger ( Bee Movie, Chicago ).  Together they vow to save Empire Records from certain mediocrity.

Top five reasons that John Cusack ( Tapeheads, 1408 ) is hating his job at the record store? 1) The customers, 2) The questions, 3) The customers, 4) The drama, 5) The crushing feeling that he might possibly have made a huge mistake.  Sometimes saving a customer from a purchase is just the right thing to do, even if that means chasing them out of the store.  Sometimes saving yourself means chasing your dreams.
