I am trying to do completely unrelated things, and am blocked by an autoroller that has repeatedly tried to roll for about three weeks and failed constantly. I am emailing the team, and hope to get their attention, but am shocked that a team’s autoroller can fail for three weeks and them not notice.

Do autorollers have a required team email address for notification that something is wrong? If a roll can’t happen, the roller should be stopped, but if a roller is started and it’s repeatedly failing to roll, it should be very noisy with the team knowing.

All rolls have a reviewer who is responsible for ensuring that the roll lands. Depending on how the roller is configured, that may be a team alias, a rotation, or a static list of email addresses. Unfortunately, rolls tend to generate a lot of email spam and are therefore often filtered and never seen.

We have optional support for sending notifications if the last three rolls in a row have failed, but those need to be configured per-roller and are still not helpful if the team is filtering or ignoring them.
