Hi Slavomír,
In principle yes, it's just a matter of "devops setting", but I can't
say I can recommend it unless you know how to handle it. It's
basically all about having two sets of:
- executable binaries (normally living under /usr/bin/)
- Python module
and making sure the right set is used when and where you want (e.g. by
two separate instances of the web backend - Bonito).
The location for both can be controlled by running ./configure with
the right options (see ./configure --help) or environment variables
(mainly DESTDIR) before running "make" and "make install".
So, in principle there is nothing that prevents you from doing that,
unless the versions are very far from each other and you run into some
data indexing incompatibilities (which are however very infrequent).
May I ask what's the motivation for having two separate instances?
Best
