July Is My Favorite Month
It's true! One reason for this is that it's the month of my work anniversary (July 5), and this year I celebrated my 30th. Another is that it's the month of my birthday (July 27) – but let's not talk about my age. You may be wondering, though, why I'm updating you on July 25 and not waiting until July 31 or August 1. Read on . . .
Newsworthy News

I fought to schedule our next new release (GURPS Hot Spots: Istanbul, 1453-1703 A.D.) for July 24, so that I could officially discuss it here – but for Reasons, it won't be out until July 31. Consider this a reminder to get it when the time comes. I'm posting today and not next week to underline a few opportunities that won't wait:
- Until July 28, you can take advantage of the GURPS Summer Sale to get deals on GURPS products that may be missing from your collection. Offers change daily, so be sure to take a look on July 25, 26, 27, and 28.
- Also until July 28, you can pick up three Bundles of Holding: GURPS 4E Essentials, Pyramid 1, and Pyramid 2 . . . another affordable way to build up your GURPS library.
- Until July 31, we'll be accepting applications to participate in the playtest of GURPS Ring of Fire, the first full-length, licensed GURPS worldbook in quite a while. Check out the call for playtesters.
Upcoming Plans
I spilled the beans on a couple of things already, although I'll repeat them here for readers who like to have everything in one place. Other matters are less certain unless I attach specific dates to them. With the customary warning out of the way, here is everything in the GURPS process right now, in likely (but by no means guaranteed) publication order.
- As promised above, Matt Riggsby's GURPS Hot Spots: Istanbul, 1453-1703 A.D. is scheduled for July 31.
- Bill Stoddard's GURPS Infinite Worlds: Gotterdammerung is slated for October and David Pulver's GURPS Guns for November, though I cannot name specific days of the month as yet.
- Nathan M.M. Meluvor's GURPS Martial Arts: The Bolognese School and my GURPS Power-Ups 11: Roll Your Own Skills are both ready enough to get in under the wire for 2025, but we haven't chosen one of them yet.
- Five of my manuscripts remain in various stages of production: a Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game adventure, GURPS Action 10, GURPS Dungeon Fantasy 24, GURPS Dungeon Fantasy Monsters 6, and GURPS Template Toolkit 5. I'll flesh out the partial titles as we assign firm dates (at least months).
- Final drafts of Thomas Pugh's GURPS Banestorm: Whispers of Tohrent and John Shimmin's GURPS Locations: Institute of Metaphysics Library are still in the editorial queue while I work on a couple of Sekrit Projekts.
- GURPS Fantasy Folk: Fishfolk (note title change) is with Anders Starmark to prepare the final draft.
- GURPS Infinite Worlds: Psionics recently left playtesting, and Matt Wehmeier is working on the final draft.
- Phil Masters's GURPS Magical Styles: Modern Magic is nearing the end of its peer review, after which it, too, will join the "with the author for final draft" brigade.
- The playtesting queue consists of GURPS Ring of Fire, compiled by Bill Stoddard, in August (again, here's the call for playtesters) and GURPS Hot Spots: Victorian London, by Alden Loveshade, most likely in September..
There are five other items on the Sekrit Projekts list, two of which continue to occupy most of my time – though one is just about off my desk (to which it will return in a month or two).
