March did not get the message about the "lamb" thing. Globally, need I say more? Personally, I spent the latter half of the month sick with a flu – with everything that implies for GURPS projects, sadly. Still, there was some movement, because I'll sleep when I'm dead.
We did not have anything new for March because the GURPS Basic Set, Fourth Edition Revised was originally scheduled then, slipped to April, and ended up in May. That is due not to my recent illness, but rather to global affairs beyond SJ Games' control (we're Illuminated, but not that Illuminated . . .). Please accept my apologies. Hopefully, we can shuffle things to cover April – though I'll be absent for most of the month as I move (you know, with boxes, tape, and a big truck), so you might not hear about it promptly on April 30.
GURPS Basic Set, Fourth Edition Revised Progress
The ETA on the GURPS Basic Set, Fourth Edition Revised moved from March to April at the start of January, and then to May in early March. Its status in our database, however, has not changed from "PRINTING" since December . . . All delays are due to presses, binderies, trucks, ships, and other machinery that SJ Games doesn't control (again: not that Illuminated). Yes, the FAQ needs an update to show this – but rest assured that all of the other details remain trustworthy.
I am ashamed that it is only March 31 and we have missed our goal to have something new for GURPS each month. Still, I remain cautiously hopeful about the following. We shall know the truth when I return from my moving-related absence in May.
The count of Sekrit Projekts remains at 5, though not quite the same 5 as before (I've owned up to GURPS Armor Design, but I've also been writing). Revelations about those or anything else you just read about are most likely to appear in the Friday updates to the GURPS thread in my DreamWidth . . . though you should expect spottiness in April and early May.
Given how much we already have in hand, my irregular availability this spring, and all the joy in the world, evaluating query letters and moving toward contracts on the ones we like are not pressing matters for us right now. Yet we made progress on three possibilities for 2027 in March, so who knows? Please stick to the Warehouse 23 Digital Wish List (updated February 27) and Warehouse 23 Wish List for GURPS (updated February 27) – bearing in mind "12 or 21 rules-light pages" – and take the time to review the Freelancer FAQ, Submission Guidelines, GURPS formatting guide, and GURPS WYSIWYG template. Thanks in advance!
