Indiana Solar For All celebrates 50th Installation with Community Solar Build
The public is invited to see it done and party with the community
Bloomington, IN, September 17, 2025 - Indiana Solar For All (INSFA) is proud to announce that its 50th rooftop solar installation will occur on October 4, 2025 in the Trailview area, a neighborhood of Habitat for Humanity homeowners. This will be the 9th donated solar system we have installed in this neighborhood as well as our 50th overall. Installation will be followed by a block party with food, family-friendly activities, an open mic, art sale, and a chance to learn more about INSFA and connect with our community.
Since 2018, INSFA has made solar accessible to low/moderate income homeowners by donating equipment and training homeowners and community volunteers to install systems under expert guidance. “Our sweat-equity barnraising approach of neighbors helping neighbors builds community, teaches valuable skills, improves the financial security of homeowners, and contributes to meeting our community’s goals for greenhouse gas reduction,” says Woodie Bessler, INSFA program director.
“This celebration is all about the power of community,” says Emma Young, who received the 49th system and is one of the organizers of the celebration for the 50th. “I have become really passionate about what INSFA does. There is just such a feeling about getting together with a group of people and achieving something in a few hours that will make a huge difference in a family’s life for the next 20 years or more.”
We invite all who are interested to view the installation (11 am) and sign the last panel before it goes up (12 pm). Please join us for food, music and celebration from 1-3 pm.
