This coming weekend offers you a rare opportunity to go hands-on with the next wave of energy-efficiency technologies and get advice from experts. Two local sustainability champions are hosting Open House presentations to share the upgrades they have made in their own homes and the results..Shawn Miya, Bloomington's Sustainability director, hosts on Saturday, February 28. Darrell Boggess, who has personally helped hundreds of Bloomington residents to go solar, hosts on Sunday, March 1.
These Show & Tell events are part of an Electrify Indiana presentation focused on how, when and why to upgrade to energy-saving heat pump appliances, solar and EVs. Electrify Indiana is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization, so this is not a sales pitch. But we will point you to where you can find low-cost funding and generous rebates, including a state program that gives 50% to 100% off upfront on energy-saving home improvements and appliances, depending on the household income level.
The Saturday event is in the Broadview neighborhood. The Sunday event is in Park Ridge East. There are two sessions each day, at 2 pm and 3:30 pm.
Space is limited so please sign up in advance at
